The probability of extreme climate events is greater with the global climate change. The disasters caused by the uneven distribution of precipitation and abnormal temperature change will increase such as floods, droughts, high temperature, freezing rain and snow, forest and prairie fire and agricultural and forest pests , as well as typhoon, storm surge, flash floods, landslides and mudslides caused by the heavy rainfall.
The regularity of outbreak, temporal and spatial characteristics, extent of damage and the degree of impact of nature disasters will have new features and new changes. The suddenness, abnormality and unpredictability of disaster will be more outstanding and the risk of disasters will increase, which will restrict the development of our economy and society seriously.

According to the research of disaster integrated research group and the experts from different department of Nation Commission of Science and National Commission of Economic, in the 21st century, the natural variation will increase in high frequency fluctuations and man-made disasters will be more, so our country has to face a new as well as serious period of natural disasters.
The drought poses a huge threat to people’s life and production of agriculture and industry, and also may aggravate land desertification, sandstorm, land subsidence, ground fissure, seawater intrusion, crop biohazard, forest biological disaster and forest fire, increase the damage to environment and pollution to water.
The main disaster area of flood is still in the south, and then is the south area of northeast of China and north of China. Floods can trigger landslides, mudslides and crop biohazards. Especially we should pay attention to the disaster caused by unexpected flooding after a long time for drought.
Provinces in the southeast of China like Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan, Fujian, Zhejiang and Taiwan are always affected by tropical cyclone. Disaster losses have been greatly increased in coastal areas along with the rapid economic growth. We should pay attention to the typhoon which is tend to go north in particular, because it will make a great damage to our agriculture, fishery and aquaculture.
Because of the warmer weather, the frequency of flooding and drought and the increased resistance of harmful organisms, pests and diseases of agroforestry are likely to occur.
Seismic activity is on the increase, which mainly located in the Tibet around, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Yunnan and Sichuan, but there is also the possibility of strong earthquakes in densely populated eastern regions.
With the development of urbanization and the construction of major projects, the man-made disasters will be more and more. Among these man-made disasters, the most people will die in geological and mining disasters.
