The online map of disaster frequency distribution by disaster type in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2014 is from the Atlas of natural disasters in China in 2014, the book is edited by the National Disaster Reduction Commission Office, the Disaster relief Department of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Disaster Reduction Center of Ministry of Civil Affairs, and is published by China Map Publishing House. The scale of this map is 1:13600000.

Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

In 2014, the disaster situation in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was lighter than that in recent years, mainly drought disaster, the number of dead and missing people and collapsed houses was the lowest in recent years.

1.Obvious regional distribution of drought, and serious losses of agriculture and animal husbandry caused by continuous seasonal drought

In April, drought began to appear in the western part of Inner Mongolia, and in June the drought continued to develop and the loss further expanded; in July, the drought began to appear in the eastern region, mainly concentrated in Chifeng City and the northwest of Tongliao City. Of the 33 animal husbandry banners and counties in the region, 27 were severely affected by drought, resulting in nearly 1/3 of grassland not turning green, and 2.9 million livestock (animals) had difficulty in finding food and drinking water. Affected by continuous drought in summer and autumn, the grain filling period of crops is seriously affected, and the production loss of agriculture and animal husbandry is serious.

2.Wind, hail, flood and waterlogging are the main causes of death

After the flood, more than 30 times of severe convective weather and heavy rainfall occurred in the whole region, 17 people died in the whole year due to disasters, all of which were caused by wind, hail and flood disasters. Among them, 5 people died due to flood and 12 people died due to wind and hail disasters.

The closer to the deep purple area, the higher the proportion of the total number of disasters in the area.

The closer to the light purple area, the lower the proportion of the total number of disasters in the area.
