The online map of disaster frequency distribution by disaster type in Gansu Province in 2014 is from the Atlas of natural disasters in China in 2014, the book is edited by the National Disaster Reduction Commission Office, the Disaster relief Department of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Disaster Reduction Center of Ministry of Civil Affairs, and is published by China Map Publishing House. The scale of this map is 1:8700000.

Gansu Province

In 2014, the disaster situation in Gansu Province was the same as that in recent years, with low-temperature freezing, snow disaster, flood, wind and hail disasters as the main disasters, and the number of dead and missing people and collapsed houses were the lowest in recent years.

1.Low temperature leads to heavy agricultural losses

From the last ten days of April to the first ten days of May, there were many large-scale cooling and snowfall weather processes in the whole province, accompanied by gale blowing sand weather. The cooling range of Hexi area is generally 6-8 ℃, and the maximum cooling range in Dunhuang is 15 ℃; In Hedong area (except Gannan), the cooling range is generally above 10 ℃, among which Yuzhong has the largest cooling range of 15 ℃, and Huining, Longxi, Qin'an and other places have a temperature drop of 13 ℃. Some of the crops that have just started to blossom in spring are damaged.

2.Wind and hail disasters occur frequently, and the loss of drought is relatively small

During the information period, there were several short-term heavy rainfall weather processes in the whole province, and wind and hail disasters occurred frequently, causing great losses to the property and infrastructure of the people in the disaster areas. From the winter of 2013 to the spring of 2014, except for the large part of Hexi, the local area of Northwest Central Gansu, and the northeast part of Longnan, the rest areas were more than the same period of the year. In the whole year, only Tianshui, Zhangye, Jinchang, Wuwei, Jiuquan, Longnan, Baiyin and other counties (cities, districts) suffered from drought, which was relatively mild compared with the same period in previous years.

The proportion of the total number of disasters in the region (%):

The closer to the dark purple area shows: The ratio of the number of disasters to the total number of disasters in the region is ≥ 10.

The closer to the light purple area shows: The ratio of the number of disasters to the total number of disasters in the region is 5-10.

The gray and white area in the figure shows: The proportion of the number of disasters to the total number of disasters in the area is <5.

The white area in the figure shows: Non affected areas.

The orange sector in the figure shows: Drought disaster.

The blue sector in the figure shows: Floods and geological disasters.

The brown sector in the figure shows: Wind and hail disaster.

The green sector in the figure shows: Typhoon disaster.

The pink sector in the figure shows: Earthquake disaster.
