Syria's excellent geographical and natural conditions, its long and ancient history and civilization, and its highly distinctive national traditions and culture have created a wealth of tourism resources for the country. Syria is an ancient civilization of West Asia with a history of thousands of years, and the capital Damascus is a world-famous ancient city, of which an ancient Arabic book once wrote: "If there is a heaven on earth, Damascus will be in it, and if heaven is in the air, Damascus is on par with it. Syria's tourism resources can be broadly divided into three areas: natural landscapes, human and historical monuments, and traditional and folk cultures.
