The total annual radiation in China ranges from 3300 to 8300 MJ/m2. The 6000 MJ/(m2·year) isoline slopes from the western foot of the Greater Xing'an Mountains to the southwest to the eastern side of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, dividing China into two parts, east and west. The total amount of radiation in the eastern half is lower than that in the western half, with an annual value between 3300 and 6000 megajoules/(m2•year). Sichuan, Guizhou and other places with heavy rain are low-value centers. The annual total value of radiation in the western half is between 5300 and 8300 MJ/(m2·year), which is high in the south and low in the north. In most areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with higher altitude, less cloud cover, more sunshine, and thin air, the annual value is above 7000 MJ/(m2•year), which is the high value center of total radiation in China.
