Since the first hours of 22 November, a deep cyclone has brought severe weather conditions to Italy with heavy precipitation and strong winds. In particular, a storm surge with strong easterly winds hit the Emilia-Romagna region and its coast. The tide associated with the storm surge was one of the highest registered and combined with very high waves, caused several meters of marine entry on the coast between the municipalities of Ferrara and Ravenna. Several damages to the coast were reported and many houses near the beach were evacuated. A red alert has been issued by the regional civil protection of Emilia-Romagna. The Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide Delineation and Grading products.
