On the 16 June 2022, three wildfires in Spain's Catalonia region reduced about 1100 hectares of woods and bushes to ash, as a heat-wave brought temperatures close to record highs in the area. The forest fire occurred in Artesa de Segre in Lleida has burnt through 500 hectares of vegetation and continues to threaten another 20,000 hectares of land. The Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide First Estimate Product, Delineation with monitoring and Grading products.
