Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) was formally established by the Swedish government in 1989.It is an international independent body dedicated to local, national, regional and global environmental and development policy issues.SEI's research projects can be divided into four main types: climate change, energy systems, environmental vulnerability and governance, and specific areas such as water and drylands resource guide.
