Abstract:
This course intends to introduce the founding philosophies of the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST), as a category 2 centre under the auspices of UNECO, as well as how IKCEST has been fulfilling its obligations through fruitful work in the past two years, providing services in various forms including training, consultancy, academic exchanges and knowledge service for engineering science and technology personnel sacross the globe, esp. those in the developing countries, by means of the application of big data technology such as data mining etc., mainly on the newly-established general system and sub-systems.
The focus will be set on the founding philosophies, vision, mission and plans of the IKCEST, with special attention given to two professional knowledge service systems, namely, the Silk Road Science and Technology Knowledge Service System and the Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service System.
(Two 10-minute-long video programs will be played in class to facilitate understanding.)
