
The Republic of Sierra Leone is located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa, surrounded by Guinea in the north and East, bordering Liberia in the southeast, and Freetown, the capital. Taiwan is translated as the Republic of Lion Rock, and China and Hongkong are translated into the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Due to its rich mineral resources, Sierra Leone's economy mainly relies on mining industry, especially drilling industry. One of the best known is blood diamonds mined from Sierra Leone.
The living standard of the people of Sierra Leone is low, it used to be the source of slaves in Europe. Now it is one of the poorest countries in the world. Whether it is purchasing power, health and longevity, or education level, they are among the world’s lowest, construction is seriously inadequate. Most of the economic activities have collapsed due to the civil war, as the war drew to a close in January 2002, a large amount of foreign aid poured in to help Sierra Leone rebuild.
