"Chi Baoming received bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees in hydrogeology from Changchun Institute of Geology from 1978 to 2000. Since 1982, he has served as assistant teacher, lecturer, associate professor, professor and doctoral supervisor of Jilin University. He has also served as director of Educational Administration Department of Changchun University of Science and Technology and vice director of Educational Administration Department of Jilin University. He is currently the vice president of the College of Disaster Prevention Science and Technology, the tutor of doctoral students of the Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Seismological Bureau, and the tutor of doctoral students of Jilin University. Member of China Karst Professional Committee; Editorial Committee of China Karst; Director of Jilin Province Textbook Professional Committee.
