Introduction
BRGM (French Geological Survey) is France's leading public body for the application of earth sciences, which aims to manage surface and subsurface resources for sustainable development. BRGM collaborates with numerous public and private stakeholders and focuses on scientific research, expertise and innovation. Its activities meet four objectives: to understand geological phenomena and associated risks, to develop new technologies and methods, to generate and distribute data for surface, subsurface and resource management, to provide the tools needed to manage surface, subsurface and resource management, to prevent risks and pollution, and to manage policies to combat climate change.
